Job summary

BorgWarner in Dixon, IL is seeking a reliable assembler to join the 2nd shift, assembling, testing and packing components for automotive customers. Starting pay is $21.50 per hour with potential overtime and a 50-cent per hour shift premium.

This is a full-time position with benefits. You will support teamwork and safety while contributing to quality, continuous improvement and on-time delivery across Dixon’s product lines.

Qualifications

• Basic math skills and ability to calculate using data.
• Able to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Capable of functioning in a team-oriented environment.
• PC literacy and basic software use.
• Strong problem solving and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture, assemble, test and pack products following documented procedures.
• Inspect components and finished assemblies visually and with measurement tools.
• Join first-piece approval processes as required.
• Participate in Kaizen and other manufacturing team activities.
• Support health, safety and environmental practices and policies.
• Apply World Class manufacturing techniques (Visual Factory, JIT).
• Perform routine preventive maintenance activities and maintain clean work areas.
• Improve production throughput and reduce scrap where possible.
• Train new production personnel and share knowledge with teammates.
