Job summary

Menasha Corporation is seeking an extrusion operator for our Wisconsin facility. You will set up extrusion machinery, load materials, and adjust settings to meet product specifications while ensuring quality and efficiency across shifts.

You will monitor processes, perform quality checks, troubleshoot issues, and maintain production records. Training new teammates and participating in Continuous Improvement initiatives are also part of the role.

Qualifications

• Machine operator experience.
• Forklift experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Set up and prepare extrusion machinery for operation by loading raw materials and adjusting equipment settings.
• Operate extrusion machines to produce plastic according to established standards and guidelines.
• Monitor the extrusion process closely, making real-time adjustments to equipment settings to maintain product quality and output efficiency.
• Conduct regular quality checks on products to ensure specifications are met.
• Troubleshoot and resolve minor operational issues to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate production records including counts, machine settings, and maintenance activities.
• Maintain a continuous repeat cycle of production/packaging to avoid buildup of parts at the workstation.
• Comply with safety guidelines to create a safe working environment.
• Assist in training new team members on operation and maintenance.
• Be involved in Continuous Improvement; promote CI, 5S and STW activities.
• Other duties assigned.

About The Opportunity

• Troubleshoot and resolve minor operational issues or malfunctions that may arise during the production process to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate production records, including product counts, machine settings, and maintenance activities, to track productivity and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Maintain a continuous repeat cycle of production/packaging to avoid the buildup of parts at the workstation.
• Comply with all safety guidelines and protocols to create a safe working environment and minimize workplace hazards.
• Assist in training new team members on the operation and maintenance of extrusion equipment.
• Be actively involved in Continuous Improvement; promote and sustain any and all CI, 5S and STW activities.
• Other duties assigned.
