Job summary

HP Hood is seeking a dependable team member to operate and maintain support equipment on the ice cream filling line in Suffield, CT. This temporary, second-shift role focuses on safety, quality, and teamwork while handling bulk can forming, fillers, lid descrambling, and packaging operations.

Responsibilities include operating various filling and packaging equipment, following SOPs, performing routine servicing, and assisting during flavor changes to maximize productivity.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a group/team atmosphere.
• Good organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Form bulk cans to supply bulk can filler at all times.
• Add designated lids to the lid descrambler and ensure proper operation to supply filler.
• Calculate usage rates and operate ingredient feeder and variegate following SOPs.
• Assist in operation of banding machines and change rolls as needed.
• Disassemble, clean, and reassemble ingredient feeders and variegate systems.
• Verify metal detectors are operating properly and document per SOPs.
• Operate bundler to ensure a consistent/quality wrap and change rolls as necessary.
• Palletize product during production or outages.
• Assist filler operator during flavor changes to maximize productivity.
• Pack sandwich boxes, ensure accurate coding and shrink wrap.
• Move packaging and materials with PIT and maintain clean, safe work areas.
• Follow GMP/SOP requirements and company regulations; work as part of a team.
