Central Garden & Pet is seeking a Warehouse Associate with forklift experience for the 2nd shift (Sunday to Thursday) to support shipping and warehouse operations. The role involves picking orders, packing, palletizing, loading finished goods, and maintaining a safe, efficient work area.

Ideal candidates can operate order pickers, pallet jacks, reach trucks, and comply with safety and quality standards. A high school diploma or GED is preferred; SAP/scanner familiarity and reliable

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks including walking, standing, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, stooping, climbing, and carrying for extended periods.
• Experience in shipping, warehouse, distribution, or general labor preferred.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsabilités

• Follow and understand verbal and written instructions with strong attention to detail.
• Operate forklifts (order pickers) safely and effectively, understanding their functions, limitations, and basic maintenance needs.
• Learn and apply all machine operation and safety procedures.
• Pick, pack, consolidate, wrap, and load orders onto delivery trucks in the proper and balanced sequence.
• Maintain accuracy when consolidating and loading orders.
• Cross train and perform tasks in other warehouse roles as needed.
• Rotate between various job tasks efficiently throughout the shift.
• Multitask and prioritize workload effectively.
• Work closely with team members to promote collaboration and maintain workflow.
• Assist in training new team members in departmental procedures.
• Ensure compliance with all Safety and Quality standards, procedures, and guidelines.
• Maintain a clean and hazard free work area to prevent accidents.
• Report mechanical issues, safety concerns, or unsafe practices immediately to a supervisor.
• Perform additional duties assigned by management to support overall operations.
