Job Description

• The position is responsible for setting up, adjusting, operating, and maintaining press equipment.
• Perform all make-ready tasks associated with the type of press operated, such as hanging plates or installing cylinders, examining plates/cylinders for imperfections, and checking for correct positioning of images, prepping blankets, adjusting tension and register, etc.
• Make necessary color corrections and/or press adjustments prior to production runs to meet and maintain quality specifications.
• Clean, lubricate, and maintain the press, making minor repairs and replacing worn or broken parts as required.
• Perform periodic maintenance as recommended by the manufacturer.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of offset printing procedures, materials, specifications, equipment, safety requirements, and skills to perform assignments.
• Ability to read and understand job specifications and knowledge of press capabilities to determine appropriate press usage, settings, and materials.
• Skill to make precise settings of controls and perform routine operational maintenance.
• Knowledge of packing pressure needed to achieve proper printing pressure for the job.
• Skill in using a micrometer to mount and align printing plates correctly.
