Linamar Corporation in Michigan is seeking a molding operator to cast aluminum parts in a fast-paced environment with close supervision. You will operate molding machines, monitor for safe operation, and ensure high-quality casts while maintaining accurate records.

Starting pay is $19.55 per hour plus shift premium; expect some overtime and safety training as part of the role. The job requires a high school diploma or equivalent, strong problem-solving and teamwork, and strict adherence to

Job Summary

Works in a fast-paced environment under minimum supervision. Routine responsibilities and duties involve the use of various procedures and the application of clearly prescribed standards of practice, requiring the use of good judgment. Must work with a high degree of accuracy. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. You will be operating a molding machine to cast aluminum castings.

Starting Pay: $19.55 per hour plus shift premium

Responsibilities

• Operate molding machines in a safe manner at all times
• Monitor equipment in your area of responsibility for adverse conditions and advise supervision of these conditions, if machine is running correct STOP and get help
• Promote and maintain high productivity levels within your area of responsibility
• Complete necessary record keeping in an accurate and timely manner
• Maintain effective communication with subordinates, peers and supervisors
• Keep mold sprayed correctly
• Visually inspect castings
• Apply cast date where and when applicable
• Required to follow any other instructions and to perform any other duties upon request of the supervisor
• Complies with the following OSHA Safety Standards: Hazard Communication; Bloodborne Pathogens; Lockout; Permit Required Confined Space; Hot Work Permit; Powered Industrial Trucks; P.P.E. and Ergonomics
• When necessary, participate in classes and training seminars to learn new technologies and techniques deemed helpful to performance on the job
• Operate molding machines in a safe manner at all times
• Other duties as assigned

Academic Requirements

• Make sure machine is running at rate if the machine is not be sure to report to leadership
• Fill out appropriate paper work and white boards or MES system accurately and on time
• Communicate problem areas as soon as possible
• Touch up coating where and when applicable
• Pick up part and inspect for defects
• The job works in conditions with constant exposure (67% or more) to noise, odors, dust, drafts, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, hazardous substances, etc. Occasional overnight travel is required
• Repetitive lifting of objects over 50 lbs.
• Repetitive manual movements
• Carrying pushing or pulling objects over 50 lbs.
• Crouching, climbing, and walking
• Sustained visual concentration on small areas, such as monitors, screens or numbers, legal documents
