Job summary

Amazon Robotics in North Reading, MA is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician responsible for overseeing installation and ongoing maintenance of our industrial equipment. You will ensure smooth operation of machinery, perform services, and troubleshoot breakdowns to minimize downtime.

Ideal candidates bring strong mechanical knowledge, troubleshooting skills, and time-management abilities. Experience in a manufacturing setting, hydraulics/pneumatics, PLCs, and electrical systems is valued

Qualifications

  • Experience using English communication skills to foster interaction with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Can carry/lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk during shifts up to 12 hours, and frequently push, pull, squat, bend and reach.
  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

  • Install new equipment and understand technical manuals, read blueprints and how to purchase replacement parts necessary to make equipment repairs.
  • Servicing and maintaining equipment including motors, conveyor systems, transmission systems, and production-related equipment.
  • Disassemble/reassemble equipment such as gearboxes, cylinders, pumps, valves, etc. and repair/replace worn or defective parts. Experience troubleshooting hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Troubleshoot PLC systems and other control systems and install wiring systems for power and control. Troubleshoot, install and repair ac/dc motors, starters, relays and drives.
  • Inspecting and assessing the functionality of production machines.
  • Troubleshoot and repair all standard electrical components and detect minor equipment problems and correct them before they become major issues.
  • Adjusting mechanical parts using hand and machine tools.
  • Fabricating parts for repairs and machine upgrades.
  • Perform preventive maintenance per planned schedules. Clean and lubricate machinery. Inspect equipment operating conditions. Identify root causes of equipment problems.
  • Communicating with the production team and maintaining a clean work area.
  • Preparing and submitting maintenance reports.
  • Developing and implementing preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Helping develop and implement the budget for the maintenance department.
  • Maintaining the inventory records for equipment and supplies
  • Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries

Job Overview

Amazon Robotics is seeking a skilled Industrial maintenance technician to oversee the installation and maintenance of our industrial equipment. As an industrial maintenance technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our machinery and mechanical equipment. This will include installing new equipment, performing regular services and maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting equipment breakdowns.

To ensure success as an industrial maintenance technician, you should have advanced mechanical knowledge of industrial machinery, excellent troubleshooting skills, and good time-management skills. Ultimately, a top-class industrial maintenance technician boosts production by ensuring all production equipment functions correctly and receives regular maintenance

Key job responsibilities
Required

You will be responsible for keeping a facility operating and repairing any problems when they are discovered before they have a chance to worsen. You will usually be required to perform a wide range of repair tasks around a facility. Tasks a Maintenance Technician may be called upon to do include:

Basic Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of automated material handling systems, packaging technologies and storage solutions
  • Can demonstrate strong attention to safety and ability to follow detailed procedures
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement principles & techniques
  • Experience in computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
  • Experience with manufacturing systems such as Tulip, Oracle, or MES preferred.

The starting pay for this position is listed below, including the base pay rate plus the highest available shift differential which applies depending on the shift you select. As a total compensation company, additional earnings may include shift differentials and overtime pay. Final pay will be based on factors including shift selection and location.
