Position Summary
The Assembler uses blueprints and hand tools to build conveyor products.
Responsibilities
- Performing assembly based on drawings and supervisor instructions
- Following supervisors’ instructions of work to be performed
- Self-inspecting work to ensure quality and compliance to specifications
- Using computer to record assembly status
- Following safety instructions and rules
- Working overtime and assigned shifts as needed
- Employees are responsible to comply with all requirements of Daifuku's QMS policies and procedures
- Employees are to ensure sustainable process outputs that drive continuous improvement to provide leading industry performance and exceptional customer satisfaction
Education and Experience Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of machine assembly experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements
- Ability to read and understand complex blueprints and assembly drawings
- Basic computer knowledge
- Basic math skills
- Knowledge of hand tools and power tools
- Knowledge of quality assurance and self-inspection techniques
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented
- Team orientation
- Crane operation experience preferred but not required
- Forklift operation experience preferred but not required
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
ADA Requirements
- Medium work exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Body movements including stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, and visual acuity requirements.
Job Conditions
- Inside environmental conditions with protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
- Hazards including proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, and working on scaffolding or high places, exposure to heat or chemicals.
- Atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
- Exposure to oils and cutting fluids.
- Functioning in narrow aisles or passageways.
