Job summary

TE Connectivity Corporation is seeking a Manufacturing Team Leader III for the 2nd shift in Fairview, NC. You will lead a shift team, drive safety, quality, and efficiency, and implement continuous improvements while coordinating with a Supervisor and cross-functional teams.

The role emphasizes training, SOP adherence, 5S, and effective communication to resolve production issues and maximize uptime and throughput. English proficiency required and standard manufacturing qualifications apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years manufacturing experience required.
• Must have ability to lead and motivate a group of peers without direct supervision authority.
• Good track record of technical competence and/or leadership demonstrated through performance feedback.
• Working knowledge of production flow and processes.
• Must be proficient in English language.

Responsibilities

• Perform production processes as lead operator.
• Provide training to all existing and new shift team members including: standard operating procedures, processing techniques, job duties and responsibilities, equipment, quality procedures including procedures pertaining to measure dimensions and containment of non-conforming materials, and certifications and recertifications.
• Ensure job order and appropriate production process is being followed by assigned employees.
• Analyze and report production results (including concerns) to Supervisor.
• Allocate resources based on production planning.
• Assist in the resolution of production process issues (workflow, re-work, first piece inspection, etc.).
• Lead process improvement projects within team.
• Ensure all tasks are performed in a safe manner. Responsible for the safe performance of team members.
• As required, make sure all production order packets are printed and ready for upcoming orders.
• Review completed orders and verify reported production. If necessary, make adjustments to reported production.
• Lead daily Tier II meeting.
• Support and drive 5S, Safety Standards, Quality, and consistent implementation of company and plant procedures and policies.
• Utilize data to solve problems; communicate with internal customers and peers; coordinate trouble-shooting; refer to Engineering for root-cause solutions.
• Partner with Shift Supervisor on daily basis to maximize productivity and foster safety, inclusion and continuous improvement.
• Develop, implement and maintain operational procedures and controls to ensure product meets customer quality standards.
• Actively participate in the PIM process
• Coordinate, review and communicate customer specifications/changes.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for Safety, Quality, Logistics, Process, and Operations.
• Help resolve conflicts, provide feedback, and refer issues to leadership when needed.
• Assist Supervisors and Management in training needs and development of team members.
• Understand and communicate changes in business, production schedules, and policies.
• Present team results in meetings and explain downtime, waste, quality, rate causes and prevention.
• Complete paperwork and data entry including production and downtime reports, incident reports and distribution of specifications.
• Other duties as assigned.
