Job summary

Aapstaff is seeking a 2nd Shift Manager to serve as the senior production leader after hours in our Melrose Park facility. The role oversees manufacturing operations, driving safety, quality, productivity, staffing, and performance goals on the second shift.

The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader who develops people and delivers results in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment, with strong cross-department communication across QA, Maintenance, and Sanitation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain 100% floor presence; own the assigned production lines.
• Coach and train production personnel.
• Lead and supervise line staff to meet or exceed targets.
• Ensure compliance with HACCP, SQF, USDA and conduct pre-shift meetings.
• Conduct start-up and end-of-shift checks; complete shift reports; document accurately.
• Enforce attendance and conduct policies; participate in corrective actions.

2nd Shift Manager

Salary: 75k-85k based on experience

Hours: 2:30pm to 12:30am

This role serves as the senior production leader during second shift, providing oversight of manufacturing operations while ensuring safety, quality, productivity, staffing, and operational performance objectives are consistently achieved. The successful candidate will be a h ands-on leader who enjoys developing people and driving results in a fast paced food manufacturing environment.

• Maintains 100% floor presence; owns the assigned production lines.
• Responsible for coaching and training of production personnel.
• Lead and supervise production line personnel to meet or exceed production targets.
• Ensure compliance with all food safety and quality standards (HACCP, SQF, USDA,Conduct pre shift meetings with line leads.
• Conduct start-up and end-of-shift checks, complete shift reports, and ensure accurate documentation.
• Enforce attendance and workplace conduct policies and participate in corrective action processes when needed.
• Communicate effectively across departments (QA, Maintenance, Sanitation)
• Monitor equipment settings and operations to ensure adherence to company standards and maintain proper functionality.
• Control process standards throughout various stages including mixing, chopping, packaging, and lot coding.
• Control raw material formula consistency.
• Responsible for reconciliation of overrun at end of shift.
• Ensure Food Safety of ProductionReview and assist with all quality control documents
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
