Job Summary

The Maintenance Worker performs preventive and corrective maintenance in the plant under management supervision. Shift: 5 PM - 4 AM.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Assist in the installation of new equipment.
• Assist in plant operation of the PLC when needed.
• Support personnel on special fabrication and construction projects.
• Follow the preventative maintenance schedule.
• Perform machine repairs and installations, including replacing motors, rebuilding gearboxes, threading and welding piping, overhauling pumps, and replacing packing shaft seals on cookers and pumps.
• Conduct daily greasing and oiling of plant equipment as needed.
• Diagnose and replace equipment parts with minimal supervision.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and organized work area at all times.
• Use assigned personal protective equipment and adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
• Attend safety meetings and participate in safety committees if required.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience with rendering or similar industrial equipment.
• At least 5 years of experience in welding and piping.

Qualifications

• Experience operating a forklift.
• Basic knowledge of general maintenance and equipment operation.
• Welding proficiency in MIG and Stick, including vertical and overhead welding.
• Mechanical aptitude to diagnose and repair motors and other equipment.

Physical Demands

• Frequently push, pull, move, or lift up to 100 lbs.
• Regularly walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch.
• Reach with hands and arms as needed.
• Travel to other plants for construction projects may be required.
• Work nights and weekends; be available on call as needed.

Work Environment

Work is performed in a rendering facility that may have wet, slippery floors and high or cold temperatures.
