Job title: Maintenance Supervisor
Type of position: Full-time
General Description:
- Perform skilled maintenance activities including construction, welding, brazing, soldering, plumbing, and hydraulics.
- Monitor all production areas to ensure proper functioning of equipment and machinery.
- Prioritize work orders and schedule mechanics based on urgency and necessity.
- Train employees on Safety Procedures including Lock Out Tag Out, Power Industrial Truck, Scissor Lift, Harness/Fall Protection, etc.
- Adjust, repair, and replace electrical and electronic equipment.
- Participate in HAZMAT team to ensure preparedness for emergency situations.
- Promote and encourage safety in all aspects of maintenance.
- Arrange for completion of required paperwork, such as payroll.
- Attend scheduled or called meetings.
- Safety background desired.
- Provide timely feedback to team members on training progression.
- Spend time in the plant verifying team members' understanding through hands-on training.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English.
- Goal-oriented with root cause analysis skills.
- Ability to lead people toward achieving personal and plant results.
- Assist HR with maintaining accurate pay records for hourly postings and record-keeping.
- Coordinate maintenance responsibilities and oversee equipment mechanics.
- Responsible for correcting or facilitating corrective measures when downtime results from mechanical or technical defects.
- Process maintenance downtime reports for management and assign work orders or projects to maintenance staff.
- Maintain department budget within guidelines.
- Conduct pre-operational inspections and address maintenance concerns to ensure scheduled operations.
- Review maintenance purchase requisitions and submit for approval.
- Tend to other duties as needed.
Required skills:
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to perform general mathematical calculations.
- Mechanical inclination and knowledge of job specifications.
- Experience in industrial construction is beneficial.
- Previous hourly maintenance and supervisory experience preferred.
- Work 40+ hours per week in all plant areas.
- Knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and practices used in building, mechanical, and electrical trades.
- Previous mechanical experience required.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
- Good attendance record (less than 3 points for internal candidates).
Education Requirements:
- Technical schooling with emphasis on mechanical or electrical fields is helpful.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
