Job summary

HP Hood is seeking an entry-level Maintenance Mechanic in Suffield, CT for a 2:00pm to 10:30pm shift, Monday through Friday. You will learn troubleshooting of production equipment under supervision and maintain building support systems as part of a safety-conscious team.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting and repair, preventative maintenance on production and warehouse equipment, and performing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, welding and plumbing tasks. OT may be required.

Qualifications

• Must take in house mechanical aptitude test.
• Basic math and reading skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a group/team atmosphere.
• Good organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair equipment in the production facility under supervision.
• Perform preventative maintenance on production and warehouse equipment.
• Carry out mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, welding, and plumbing duties as required.
• Rebuild/replace equipment such as pumps, gear boxes, bearings, and conveyors.
• Complete assigned work orders by their due dates.
• Complete housekeeping duties as required.
• Communicate any condition that may affect production to supervision.
• Work overtime as needed, including weekends/holidays.
• Bring own basic hand tools to perform tasks.
• Work effectively as part of a team; perform other duties as assigned.
