Job summary

SST Direct in Madison, WI is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for 2nd shift to diagnose and repair electrical faults in three-phase power systems, perform preventive maintenance on conveyor lines, and ensure peak machine performance.

You will collaborate with production and engineering teams to schedule maintenance, read schematics and wiring diagrams, operate forklifts as needed, and maintain accurate records of repairs and parts inventory.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with electrical maintenance apprenticeship or training.
• Experience in electrical maintenance in 24/7 manufacturing or commercial laundry settings.
• Strong knowledge of three-phase systems, motor controls, and industrial components.
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams and mechanical blueprints.
• Physical ability to stand, climb ladders, lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair electrical faults in three-phase power systems and control circuits to minimize downtime.
• Inspect, replace, and maintain gaskets and other mechanical components for performance and safety.
• Climb ladders and access elevated equipment for inspections, repairs, and installations.
• Collaborate with production and engineering to schedule maintenance and respond to emergencies.
• Maintain maintenance records and report on equipment status, repairs, and parts inventory.
• Follow safety protocols and regulatory requirements while performing tasks.
• Work overtime to support continuous manufacturing operations.
