Job summary

Camtronics, a subsidiary of HEICO Corporation, seeks an experienced CNC Machinist to perform set-up and operation of CNC machines, read blueprints and models, and document quality data. The role requires 5+ years of CNC experience, G-code/M-code programming, and Solidworks/HSM Works proficiency.

Shift is 2nd: Monday–Friday, 3:30 PM–12:00 AM, with strict tolerances and safety expectations. Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, be fluent in English, and demonstrate GD&T reading

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum 5 years experience with CNC set-ups and change outs.
  • Programming experience with G-code and M-code; HSM CAM experience preferred.
  • Solidworks CAD experience preferred; GD&T reading required.
  • Must communicate in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

  • Set-up and operate CNC machines to close tolerances.
  • Inspect parts with calipers and other measuring tools.
  • Develop tooling and program using Solidworks/HSM Works.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and report quality issues.
  • Collaborate with programmers to resolve unusual problems.

Job description

Camtronics, a subsidiary of HEICO Corporation, a NYSE-traded company (NYSE: HEI) is seeking a CNC Machinist. The CNC Machinist performs all machining operations required to produce finished products. Work from blueprints, 3-D Solid models, specifications, job layouts, and written and/or oral instructions for the successful set-up and operation of CNC machines, dimensional inspection, data collection, and paperwork completion under limited supervision. This is a 2nd Shift Position Monday - Friday 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
  • Set-up and operate CNC machines to very close tolerances.
  • Use calipers or other measuring instruments in order to perform quality control checks on parts in-process and upon completion.
  • Ability to build tooling and program utilizing company provided software (Solidworks/HSM works).
  • Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Recommend changes to processes or procedures to improve quality and productivity.
  • Exercise care and safe work practices - work requires close tolerances and fine finishes. Tasks may include developmental parts, depending upon production, demands and product mix.
  • Solve problems and deviations in accordance with previous training; interact with programmers to find solutions to new or unusual problems.
  • Perform necessary tasks and paperwork for the proper movement and control of parts.
Education
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
Work Experience:
  • Must be able to communicate both written and orally in the English language.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience with CNC set-ups and change outs is required.
  • Programming experience required; proficient understanding of G-code and M-code.
  • HSM CAM experience preferred
  • Solidworks CAD experience preferred
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Must be able to run a vertical 4th axis mill and CNC lathe machine.
  • Haas experience and Tormach experience preferred.
  • Blueprint with GD&T reading capabilities
Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to stand; walk; bend, squat, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The team member may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
