Job summary

Geiger, part of the MillerKnoll collective, is seeking a 2nd shift Machine Operator to support our Hildebran manufacturing line. You will run automated equipment, read drawings and BOMs, and help maintain quality and productivity in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities include setup, operation, diagnostics, and training others while adhering to 5S and safety policies. Overtime and varied hours may be required to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED; minimum 1 year of machinery operation experience in manufacturing.
• Ability to read dimensional drawings and specifications.
• Experience using measurement tools and data in quality checks.

Responsibilities

• Operates a variety of complex equipment or automated machinery to fabricate, assemble or move products.
• Reads routings, drawings and BOM to ensure parts meet quality standards.
• Maintains a clean, safe work environment following 5S principles and safety guidelines.
• Develops, performs and trains others in preventative maintenance.
• Communicates effectively and supports continuous improvement activities.

And our success allows Geiger to support causes that align with our values, so we can build a more sustainable, equitable, and beautiful future for everyone.**HOURS: MON - THURS 3:30pm - 2am, FRIDAYS AS NEEDED****GENERAL PURPOSE**Operates a variety of complex equipment or specific automated machinery or tools to fabricate, manufacture, assemble or move products meeting all necessary specifications and quality control standards. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS*** Maintains and monitors machinery and tools to ensure proper function.* Calculates and derives dimensional information from all types of dimensional drawings.* Completes required paperwork correctly to ensure record accuracy.* Conducts activities to setup, load, operate, diagnose, debug and trouble shoot manufacturing equipment.* Consistently performs to and assists in developing Standard Work Instructions at each process and requests changes when needed.* Consistently performs, knows, and understands SPC/Quality checks by utilizing measuring tools and devices and react to specification data.* Develops, performs, and teaches preventative/pro-active technical maintenance.* Maintains a clean, safe, working environment according to 5s principles and department safety guidelines.* Leads and participates in improvement activities within current department or other departments.* Performs 100% of the machinery jobs in the department at the required rate (cycle time, depending on assignment.* Reads, understands, and interprets routings/drawings / BOM (Bill of Material) so that parts are produced to quality expectations.* Rotates through the department workstations based on business need.* Trains others and assists in developing training tools as needed.* Communicates effectively.* Regular and predictable attendance based on scheduled hours.* Works overtime as needed.* Flexibility to work varied hours (surrounding assigned shift) as business needs require.* Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.* Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.**QUALIFICATIONS** *To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
