Job description

CREATIVITY IS OUR SUPERPOWER.

It’s our heritage and it’s also our future. Because we don’t just make toys. We create innovative products and experiences that inspire fans, entertain audiences and develop children through play. Mattel is at its best when every member of our team feels respected, included, and heard—when everyone can show up as themselves and do their best work every day. We value and share an infinite range of ideas and voices that evolve and broaden our perspectives with a reach that extends into all our brands, partners, and suppliers.

  • Maintain working knowledge of LTL shipping processes, including carrier coordination, freight classification, labeling, Bills of Lading (BOLs), shipment consolidation, pickup requirements, and routing. LTL is used when a shipment does not require an entire trailer, allowing multiple customers' freight to share trailer space.
  • Lead daily B2B outbound shipping operations, ensuring orders are safely, accurately, and efficiently prepared and loaded according to customer requirements and shipping schedules.
  • Enforce all dock safety standards and OSHA‑compliant practices, including PPE, trailer restraints, dock plates, pedestrian/equipment separation, and safe clamp‑truck operation.
  • Review customer routing guides, shipping requirements, stack/pallet specifications, labeling standards, and loading patterns to ensure orders meet customer expectations.
  • Verify outbound loads for SKU and quantity accuracy, stack integrity, wrapping/banding, labeling, product condition, trailer assignment, and required documentation before departure.
  • Assign and balance clamp‑truck operators and dock labor based on shipping priorities, workload, equipment availability, and productivity expectations.
  • Monitor dock performance and labor efficiency using KPIs such as loads/stacks per hour, downtime, on‑time trailer departures, damage rates, misloads, and operator productivity; identify opportunities to improve workflow.
  • Ensure trailers are loaded correctly using appropriate loading patterns, weight distribution, cube utilization, scan verification, and load‑ready checks to prevent damage and misloads.
  • Serve as the primary dock point of contact, coordinating with drivers, supervisors, Customer Service, Planning, Inventory Control, Production, and other warehouse teams to resolve shortages, damages, delays, and shipping exceptions.
  • Lead shift start‑up meetings, provide associate training and performance feedback, maintain required shipping and safety documentation, and provide supervisors with accurate end‑of‑shift reporting.
Required
  • 1–3 years of experience in shipping, warehouse, or logistics operations.
  • Strong knowledge of clamp‑truck operation (certification preferred).
  • Ability to read BOLs, pick sheets, routing guides, and customer load specs.
  • Proven leadership or team‑lead experience.
  • Ability to enforce safety rules consistently and professionally.
  • Attention to detail and strong quality‑verification skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven shipping environment.
Preferred
  • Experience in B2B shipping for high‑volume or high‑value goods.
  • Familiarity with WMS/TMS, RF scanners, and productivity dashboards.
  • Basic data skills to track efficiency and labor utilization.
