Job summary

DICK’S Sporting Goods in Atlanta, GA is hiring a dependable janitor/custodian to maintain cleanliness across the distribution center, offices, restrooms, break rooms and warehouse spaces. Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, disinfecting surfaces, emptying trash, restocking supplies, operating floor cleaning equipment, and upholding safety protocols.

The role requires 1–3 years of cleaning experience and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years cleaning experience preferred.
• Experience operating cleaning equipment (e.g., floor scrubber) is a plus.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and safety procedures.
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, stand, push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic English reading comprehension and numerical reasoning.

Overview

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and disinfecting surfaces in various areas of the distribution center, including offices, restrooms, break rooms, warehouse spaces and grounds.
• Empty all trash cans & replace liners, clean receptacles as necessary.
• Operates manual & mechanical equipment in a safe manner i.e. sweepers, scrubbers, and ride on floor machines
• Maintains cleaning supply inventory levels & notifies Supervisor when reordering is needed
• Maintains janitor closets & equipment in a clean, safe & operable condition.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while performing cleaning duties. Report any safety hazards, malfunctions, or repairs needed to the appropriate personnel.. Follows SDS recommendations and has chemical safety awareness.
• Restock supplies in bathrooms, break rooms & common areas.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1-3 years experience
• Prior experience and/or knowledge operating cleaning equipment (i.e. floor scrubber) preferred
• Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, use of cleaning equipment, and safety procedures.
• Able to bend, stoop, reach, stand, push, pull & lift approximately up to 50 pounds repetitively
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Manual dexterity
• Strong communication skills to report issues and collaborate effectively with other team members
• Attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Basic English reading comprehension & numerical reasoning skills.
