Job summary

UFP Industries is seeking general labor to safely handle lumber products at our Salisbury, NC facility. The role involves verifying materials meet customer requirements and company expectations, while maintaining efficient production records.

Responsibilities include moving, stacking, labeling, tagging, and securing materials, using staple guns, and assisting in other areas as needed. Candidates should be at least 18 and may have prior lumber or manufacturing experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED preferred but not required.
• No minimum experience is required, but manufacturing or lumber experience is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Move and secure lumber products and other materials per instructions.
• Stack finished products according to bundle sizes or customer requirements.
• Label material by type, size, and count.
• Apply individual tags to material before/after treating/production.
• Use a staple gun and troubleshoot equipment as needed.
• Band, bundle and secure material, attach corner protectors and loading sticks.
• Ensure correct quantities, strap and label material before leaving work area.
• Maintain accurate inventory of tags and report discrepancies to supervisor.
• Record production on production sheets.
• Keep a clean and organized work area.
• Assist with other areas by moving material and loading/unloading carts.
• Participate in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
• Perform other duties as required.

Principle Duties And Responsibilities

• Moves and secures lumber products and other materials according to instructions
• Stacks finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements
• Labels material based on the following specifications: type, size, and count
• Applies individual tags to material before/after treating/production
• Uses a staple gun and troubleshoots equipment
• Bands, bundles and secures material, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticks
• Follows instructions for stacking material properly and according to company policy and customer requirements
• Ensures correct quantities and material are strapped, and labeled before leaving the work area
• Maintains accurate inventory of tags and reports any problems or discrepancies to supervisor
• Records production on production sheets
• Maintains a clean and organized work area
• Assists with other work areas by moving material, loading and unloading material carts
• Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings
• Performs other duties as required
