Job summary

CHEP Services, LLC is seeking a TPM Operator to sort and move pallets safely in a busy facility. Use forklift and basic maintenance, perform pre-operation inspections, support loading/unloading, and uphold safety protocols.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform pallet sorting from loading docks to the sort line/area, removing debris and determining pallet quality.
  • Operate the forklift to move pallets, containers and materials throughout the plant facility.
  • Conduct a pre-operation inspection of the forklift and report issues to maintenance.
  • Assist in loading and unloading trucks or containers with pallets using the forklift, ensuring proper placement and securing.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and wear PPE daily, reporting hazards to supervisors.
  • Perform basic forklift maintenance tasks as required.

Position Purpose

The TPM Operator is responsible for sorting and moving pallets safely and efficiently throughout the facility, using forklift and manual tools. The role involves manual pallet sorting, debris removal, forklift operation, and basic maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform pallet sorting from loading docks to the sort line/area, removing debris and trash and determining pallet quality.
  • Operate the forklift to move pallets, containers and materials throughout the plant facility, including moving levers, pressing pedals and positioning forks, lifting platforms or other lifting devices around loaded pallets.
  • Conduct a pre‑operation inspection of the forklift and promptly report any issues to the maintenance team.
  • Assist in loading and unloading trucks or containers with pallets or materials using the forklift, ensuring proper placement and securement.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, wear appropriate personal protective equipment daily, and report any safety hazards or concerns to supervisors immediately.
  • Perform basic forklift maintenance tasks as required.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience working in an industrial, fast‑paced environment with industrial equipment.
  • Proven experience operating a forklift in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures relevant to forklift operations.
  • Valid forklift operator certification/license preferred.
  • Ability to complete tasks within a timely manner with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to understand and communicate information effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong communication, tool handling, observation, critical thinking, problem solving and time management skills.

Physical Requirements
  • Lift and carry up to 40 lbs throughout the work shift.
  • Push items with a maximum force of 31 lbs./feet.
  • Pull items with a maximum force of 31 lbs./feet.
Benefits
  • $20 per hour, weekly pay with direct deposit.
  • Shift 2: Rotating day shift 5:30 PM – 3:30 AM, working every other weekend.
