Job summary

Savage Arms is hiring a 2nd shift Finishing Operator in Westfield, MA. You will set up and run heat treat and finishing processes, operate coating equipment, and perform roll stamping on firearm components to meet precise quality standards.

Responsibilities include maintaining tanks, monitoring chemicals, testing hardness, and ensuring safe, orderly work areas with minimal supervision. Some hand polishing and surface finishing tasks are required.

Qualifications

• Must follow safety procedures and use hand tools and power tools as required.
• May train or instruct others on related duties.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Regulates temperature and atmosphere, tests hardness, and controls quench media.
• Implements cleaning and coating cycles through tanks and racks.
• Maintains and adjusts tanks, records chemical usage and temperatures.
• Performs polishing and finishing operations on metal parts to spec.
• Operates roll stamping and adjusts stamps as needed.
• Inspects parts and maintains quality finishes with various wheels and belts.
