Job summary

Quad In-Store, part of Quad/Graphics, is seeking entry-level and skilled machine operators for our West Allis facility. You will set up and operate finishing equipment including die cutters and guillotine cutters, inspect products, and move materials using pallet jacks or forklifts.

The role requires reading job tickets, completing paperwork, and adhering to production schedules. We offer benefits and room to grow within a union-friendly manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• The ability to bend and lift 10-15 pounds continuously, up to 70 pounds occasionally, stand long hours, and use hands/wrists in repetitive tasks.
• Receive and follow instructions and use vision to identify defects; perform basic math and measurements.
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills; good verbal and written communication.
• Prior machine operator experience with finishing equipment is a plus.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate finishing equipment to customer specifications.

Job Description

Quad In-Store is currently seeking entry-level and skilled machine operators to work in our West Allis facility. Machine operators are responsible for the setup and operation of finishing equipment, including but not limited to: Die Cutters, Guillotine Cutters, and Stock Mounters.

Job duties for this position include, but are not limited to:

• Perform the setup and operation of various finishing equipment to customer specifications.
• Inspect product to determine conformity to quality specifications.
• Move work-in-process to and from the machine via electric pallet jack or forklift.
• Read and understand job tickets.
• Complete necessary job paperwork.
• Report productivity achievements, waste/defects.
• Adhere to production schedule and quality requirements.
• Communicate effectively with supervisor, finishing operators, material handlers, and co-workers.
• Clean and maintain the work area.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and production adjustments on equipment as needed.

Ability to work Monday-Thursday 2:00pm-12:00am with Fridays and Saturdays as needed for overtime.

Preference is to train on 1st shift 4:00am - 2:00pm.

Qualifications

• The ability to bend and lift 10-15 pounds continuously, the ability to lift up to 70 pounds occasionally, stand long hours, and use hands and wrists continuously in controlled movement. Receive and follow instructions and use vision in order to identify defects, performing repetitive tasks in a fast-paced atmosphere with or without a reasonable accommodation. Mechanical aptitude and excellent communication skills, including good verbal and written comprehension is required. The ability to perform basic math calculations is essential. Prior Machine Operator experience and proven familiarity with finishing equipment are desired.
