Job summary

Northbrook Park District is seeking a Facility Maintenance Worker I to perform custodial and maintenance tasks across multiple facilities in Northbrook, IL. The role includes cleaning, basic repairs, and assisting with room setup for programs and meetings.

Responsibilities cover sanitation, use of cleaning equipment, and scheduling support. The position is part-time, non-exempt, and aligns with district safety and service standards.

Qualifications

• Completion of four (4) years of high school or equivalent including a general familiarity of customer service and building maintenance.
• Experience with custodial and basic building maintenance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform general custodial duties and sanitation of assigned facilities.
• Operate mechanized cleaning equipment (vacuum, floor machines) to maintain floors.
• Set up and take down spaces for programs and meetings as instructed.
• Assist with basic plumbing tasks and routine maintenance as needed.
• Oversee early morning or late evening activities and secure buildings accordingly.
• Assist with snow removal and outdoor area upkeep.
