Job summary

Shambaugh & Son is seeking a 2nd Shift Fabricator for the Fire Fabrication Shop. In this position you will be responsible for fabricating pipe for fire protection systems.

The role requires reading tape measures, interpreting assembly instructions, and assembling parts to meet exact specifications.

Candidates must be dependable, able to work weekends, stand 8–12 hours, and lift up to 50 lbs; attention to detail is essential for safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Read a tape measure down to a ¼.
• Be dependable and have good attendance.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn are important.
• Must be able to communicate ideas, verbally and in writing.
• Must be able to work Saturdays.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to follow directions and communicate with others.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Stand, bend, twist and walk for 8–12 hour shifts.
• Regular and reliable attendance including extended hours and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all parts are fitted and screwed in properly.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Use various machinery
• Study and interpret assembly instructions
• Listen to directions from supervisors
• Fabricate and assemble pipe per instructions
• Read parts list and determine if all parts are present
• Assemble tools, materials, and various components
• Interpret measurements
• Verify specifications
• Ensure all parts are fitted and screwed in properly
• Resolve assembly and production issues, with managements assistance
• Troubleshoot malfunctions and perform repairs as neededEnsure working environment is clean and safe
• Report errors in production
• Other duties as assigned
