Job summary

Dover Food Retail is seeking a Machine Operator I for 2nd shift in South Chesterfield, VA. You will fabricate assemblies and parts, set up fixtures, and follow engineering drawings and BOMs to meet production standards.

You will perform basic maintenance, operate and troubleshoot equipment, and participate in cross-functional meetings. The role requires up to 50 lb lifts, basic math, and strong attention to safety and quality in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1-3 years of production fabrication or comparable experience.
• 1-2 years of fabrication/machining preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate assemblies/parts per engineering documents and production standards.
• Set up and lay out work using fixtures and guides.
• Arrange parts for fabrication and staging processes.
• Review finished assemblies and parts against drawings and BOMs.
• Report fabrication issues and assist in resolutions.
• Reject defective parts and material per policy.
• Ensure safe, careful use, maintenance of tools and equipment.
• Participate in cross functional meetings as required.
• Perform complex troubleshooting.
• Cross-train team members and share knowledge.
