Job summary

Pro Resources Staffing Services is seeking a 2nd Shift Extruder Utility Operator in Indiana. You will help operate and maintain equipment across the Extrusion department, performing setups, changeovers, material handling, and quality checks.

The role requires strong attention to detail, ability to read production specs, and willingness to train on the 1st shift. Forklift experience and the ability to work OT are a must.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain equipment in the Extrusion department, including extruders and related lines.
• Set up, operate, monitor production equipment; perform changeovers and line starts.
• Load and thread raw materials, monitor material flow and adjust temperatures, speeds, and tooling as needed.
• Perform quality inspections to ensure products meet specifications and monitor coating thickness and dimensions.
• Move materials and finished products, complete production paperwork, and record downtime and material information.
• Assist with routine maintenance and troubleshooting; maintain a clean, safe work environment.

2nd Shift Extruder Utility Operator

Hours: 2:00PM-10:00PM (must report 15 minutes prior and remain 15 after shift for changeover)(MUST TRAIN ON 1ST SHIFT 1 TO 2 WEEKS-MAYBE LONGER DEPENDING ON THE JOB)(Will learn various roles of the department)

Pay Rate: $19.08 per hour

What You'll Do

• As an Extruder Utility Operator, you will help operate and maintain equipment throughout the Extrusion department, including Extruders, Auto-Die, Corrugators, and One-Pass Lines.
• Your responsibilities will include:Set up, operate, and monitor production equipment.
• Perform machine changeovers, startups, and die changes/gapping.
• Load and thread raw materials and monitor material flow.
• Adjust machine settings such as temperatures, speeds, feed rates, and tooling.
• Operate conveyors, feed rolls, ovens, pumps, and related equipment.
• Perform quality inspections to ensure products meet specifications.
• Monitor coating thickness, appearance, dimensions, and overall product quality.
• Identify defects and make adjustments when necessary.
• Monitor raw material rolls and perform splices to maintain continuous production.
• Operate auto-die cutting equipment.
• Move raw materials and finished products throughout the production area.
• Remove scrap and waste materials.
• Complete production paperwork and record downtime and material information.
• Perform routine maintenance and assist with troubleshooting.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Follow all safety procedures and required PPE guidelines.
• Rotate between different positions and perform various tasks within the production cell.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand and walk for most of the shift.
• Frequent bending, reaching, and some climbing.
• Routinely lift approximately 10 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Some materials may weigh up to approximately 75 lbs.
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with temperatures ranging from approximately 55°F-100°F, with higher temperatures near ovens for short periods.
• Noise levels can reach approximately 94 dB.
