Job summary

Acorn Distributors Inc. seeks a warehouse associate for pick, pack, and load duties in our distribution center. You will read orders, assemble customer shipments, and load pallets onto delivery trucks, ensuring items are secure and undamaged for delivery.

The role requires operating forklifts and related equipment, with OSHA safety adherence and shift-end housekeeping. Requires HS diploma and 6 months to 1 year in a distribution setting; second shift starts at 5:00pm.

Qualifications

• Strong reading and comprehension of written orders.
• 2nd
• Basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, decimals) for units.
• OSHA safety training or certification within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Read customer orders to determine items to pick and load for shipment.
• Assemble orders from stock and place on pallets for loading on delivery trucks.
• Load product on trucks in the required sequence.
• Ensure product is not damaged and easy to sort upon delivery.
• Inspect equipment and complete shift logs at shift start.
• Clean distribution center and plug equipment into charging stations at shift end.
• Follow OSHA standards and report violations to DC Supervisor (2nd shift).
• Other duties as required.
• Work second shift hours (5:00pm start).

Job Description:

Pick, pack and load product from the distribution center to delivery trucks, manually or with forklifts, dollies, or hand trucks. Work second shift hours which include varying end times.

Work Hours: 5:00pm Start Time

Essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Read customer order, work order, or shipping order to determine items to be picked and loaded for customer
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets to be loaded on delivery trucks
• Load product on trucks as required in predetermined order
• Ensure product is not damaged and is loaded in a manner that allows for ease in sorting and selecting upon delivery
• Perform equipment inspections and complete log sheets at the beginning of every shift
• Clean distribution center and plug all necessary equipment into charging stations at the end of every shift
• Follow OSHA and safety standards, report violations to direct supervisor (DC Supervisor - 2nd Shift)
• Other duties, as required

Physical Demands:

• Job requires employees to be able to stand for prolonged periods of time
• Repetitive, physically demanding work and regularly required to reach with hands and arms, stand, walk, and use hands to handle or feel, and sort and load
• Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk and hear
• Frequently required to lift and/or move excessive weight (50 pounds or more)
• Required to use and read computer and scanner screens, communicate required reporting
• Expected to maintain certain levels of productivity and accuracy
• Work second shift hours

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be able to communicate and comprehend both written and oral information
• Competence in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to operate necessary equipment (forklift, stock picker, two-wheeler, wrapping machine, dollies, carts)
• Must be certified by Acorn Distributors on all equipment as required by OSHA within 90 days
• High School diploma or equivalent
• A minimum of six (6) months to (1) year of experience in a distribution center

Forklift, stock picker, turret, electric walkie rider, pallet jack, riding floor scrubber and vacuum, two-wheeler, wrapping machine, dollies, and carts
