Job summary

UG2 is seeking a Custodian to perform janitorial duties across multiple facilities in Des Moines, IA. You will ensure clean, safe spaces, sanitize restrooms, restock supplies, and maintain equipment while adhering to safety protocols.

Qualified candidates bring 6+ months of related experience, strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment. Valid driver's license is a plus and lifting up to 50 pounds may be required.

• Wearing of proper Personal Protective Equipment at all times.
• Other routine maintenance duties as assigned.

POSITION TITLE: Custodian

DIRECT REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Janitorial Supervisor/Manager

Major Function

The Custodian, under the direction of the Janitorial Supervisor or Manager, is responsible for performing janitorial duties for buildings and related areas. Quality customer service skills are required. Knowledge or willingness to learn proper cleaning techniques is essential.

Job Responsibilities

• Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping of flooring and stairs.
• Clean and sanitize bathrooms.
• Clean sinks, countertops, microwaves, and refrigerators in break rooms.
• Restock supplies in bathrooms, break rooms and common areas.
• Empty all trash cans and replace liners, clean receptacles as necessary.
• Dusting and cleaning office desks and furniture that are not cluttered.
• Cleaning windowsills and windows.
• Maintain janitor closets in a clean, organized and safe manner.
• Maintain janitorial equipment in a clean, safe and operable condition.
• Proper labeling, dilution and use of all chemicals.
• Wearing of proper Personal Protective Equipment at all times.
• Maintain vending closets in a clean, organized and safe manner.
• Other routine maintenance duties as assigned.
