Job summary

Optimas OE Solutions in Wood Dale, IL is seeking a 2nd Shift Cold Header Operator to participate in producing parts for the heavy truck and automotive markets. You will set up and run cold heading machines, read blueprints, and ensure quality.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of experience in cold heading, ability to lift 50 lbs, stand 8-10 hours, and work with basic measuring tools. We offer competitive pay and an onsite team environment.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand blueprints.
• Review and validate materials (wire grade, diameter)
• Set up, troubleshoot, and operate cold heading machines.
• Use machine controls, SPC & process monitoring systems.
• Use basic measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and other gauges to check dimensional and attribute characteristics of headed blanks.
• Maintain quality records and other necessary forms and documentation.
• Follow instructions and directions from supervisors, team leaders.
• Good housekeeping of equipment, work area, and other assigned areas
• Perform daily and weekly machine maintenance to keep equipment in optimal working condition.
