Job summary

Tri-Mack Plastics, located in Bristol, Rhode Island, seeks a CNC Machinist Level 3 / Set-Up Technician for the 2nd shift. You will set up and run tight tolerance parts using defined programs, train teammates, and support tool changes.

The role emphasizes problem solving, processes improvement, and maintaining ISO 9001/AS9100 standards. Requirements include at least 5 years of CNC experience, strong blueprint reading and GD&T skills, and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience on CNC milling and/or lathe machines.
  • Experience in CNC machine set-up and/or program edits.
  • Solid understanding of blueprints and GD&T.
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, sit and lift up to 40 pounds for 8–12 hours.
  • General math knowledge and ability to solve geometric problems.
  • Ability to use and understand measuring tools and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate multiple CNC machines to specifications and hold tight tolerances.
  • Train coworkers on operating CNC machines and measurement techniques.
  • Identify loading technique and monitor critical dimensions; teach hand-off loading.
  • Change tools/inserts and verify part conformance; advise on wear rates.
  • Perform offsets, taper and work offsets; verify setup accuracy across programs.
  • Complete all documentation accurately each shift.
  • Troubleshoot floor problems and maintain lot traceability.
  • Independently perform Preventative Maintenance tasks in the department.
