Job summary

Job description

Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC machinery to produce metallic parts to customer specifications.

  • Conduct pre-operations inspections to ensure machine is ready to be operated in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Read and execute daily production schedule as directed by supervisor.
  • Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent machining.
  • Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machinery.
  • Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut.
  • Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine controls or control media as required and report problems to supervisor as necessary.
  • Verify conformance of finished work piece to specifications and stop production if any part is detected to be out of specification.
  • Confer with Machine Shop Supervisor to resolve machining problems.
  • Produce daily production reports, inspections and other reports as directed by supervisor.
  • Have understanding and knowledge of company procedures and work instructions.
  • Maintain a safe and organized workstation and follow all company policies and safety procedures.

Basic Qualification
  • High school diploma or equivalent GED.
  • A minimum of three years of related experience.
  • Minimum three years' experience working with close tolerance practices of +/- .010 or less, in a manufacturing environment.
  • Understand how to read blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.
Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demand

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk quickly, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear in a load and hot environment. The employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, or crouch, and climb onto equipment. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to focus.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Pay

$22-29/ hour. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.

Location

Rancho Plant 2 - Fontana, CA.

Schedule

2nd shift, 2pm-10:30pm, Monday-Friday.
