Job summary

Metalcraft of Mayville, Inc. is seeking a Brake Press Operator to set up and run Cincinnati and Amada hydraulic CNC brakes in a just-in-time fabrication facility. You will select tooling, install dies, read work orders, and ensure parts meet specifications while maintaining safety standards.

The role requires basic shop math, blueprint reading, and the ability to operate a forklift. You may assist other operators as needed and participate in routine maintenance and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Competent at basic dimensional measuring and able to quickly learn the use of precision measurement tools.
• Demonstrated competency in basic shop math.
• Basic ability to read and understand blueprints and other shop drawing aids.
• Ability to use a forklift.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively implement or respond to change.
• Demonstrated detail orientation, self motivation skills and ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate hydraulic press for routine work.
• Select correct tooling for the job task with setup documents or supervisor/lead assistance.
• Load, install and set up tools with assistance.
• Perform assigned work to time standards and quality expectations.
• Safely operate a forklift to handle materials and finished work.
• Report and document material, production and quality control issues.
• Participate in equipment preventative maintenance at the operator level.
• Read work orders or production schedules to determine specifications.
• Install, align, and lock punches, dies, blades, or fixtures using gauges and hand tools.
• Position and secure workpieces on fixtures or stops on machine beds.
