Job summary

SBA Home North Carolina, SBA Group's first U.S. manufacturing site, seeks an Automation Electrician to diagnose, maintain, and repair machinery across the plant and ensure safe, efficient production.

The role operates on the second shift after initial training on the 6am–2pm shift. Responsibilities include troubleshooting electrical and automation systems, installing wiring, motors, PLCs, and control panels, and supporting TPM and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification, associate degree, or equivalent hands‑on experience preferred.
  • Proven experience as an Electrical Technician in a manufacturing environment or a similar industrial role.
  • Strong Electrical troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced, automated environment.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections, proactive troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repairs on electrical systems, automated equipment/conveyors, machinery and facility electrical systems.
  • Rapidly diagnose and resolve complex electrical, control, and automation issues to minimize equipment downtime and maintain high-volume production efficiency.
  • Install, test, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, motors, drives, sensors, PLCs, control panels, and related electrical equipment.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and production teams to support equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, diagrams, and technical manuals to effectively troubleshoot and maintain equipment.
  • Prepare and maintain work instructions related to electrical maintenance, equipment operation, safety procedures, TPM activities, and standard work practices.
  • Fabricate, modify, or repair electrical components and wiring systems using appropriate electrical and plant tools as needed.
  • Ensure all electrical work is completed in compliance with company quality standards, OSHA regulations, electrical codes, safety requirements, and environmental policies.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, repair documentation, inspection reports, and inventory usage within the maintenance management system.
  • Support installation, startup, and commissioning of new electrical equipment, automation systems, and production machinery

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Automation Electrician to support the reliability and performance of our manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing machinery and equipment throughout the plant to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted production (2pm-10pm after training on 1st shift 6am - 2pm).
