Kraft Heinz Kendallville Plant is seeking a Maintenance Technician to help keep our production lines running smoothly in Kendallville, Indiana. You will troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on production, building, and utilities equipment while collaborating with the operations team.

Qualifications

• Maintenance training or degree; experience in manufacturing maintenance.
• Self-motivated with a results-driven approach.
• Ability to perform basic mathematics.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and climb ladders.
• Comfortable in dusty, starch-containing environments and hot/humid conditions.
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing, food processing, hygiene and safety.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment for building, production, and utilities.
• Coordinate with production for corrective maintenance to sustain line efficiency and product quality.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections on production, building, and utilities equipment.
• Assist in developing preventive maintenance plans.
• Recommend and implement continuous improvement on equipment and system design.
• Analyze equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
• Communicate with maintenance personnel across shifts to coordinate efforts.
• Collaborate cross-functionally as part of the operations team.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Team Leader.

Plant Overview

• Non-union plant employing 280 employees across 3 shifts.
• Purchased in 1934 from Breyer’s Ice Cream and began producing caramel in 1935.
• Began producing Marshmallows and Marshmallow Crème in 1961 and Marbits (dehydrated marshmallows found in cereal) in 1979.
• Kendallville is the sole producer of all our product lines.

Kendallville is located about 30 minutes north of Fort Wayne and offers a small-town community.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment as needed associated with the building, production, and utilities.
• Coordinate with production to address any corrective maintenance required on assigned equipment to ensure optimum line efficiency and product quality.
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections on all production, building, and utilities equipment as assigned.
• Participate in the development of documented preventive maintenance plan.
• Recommend and implement continuous improvement on equipment and system design.
• Analyze equipment failures and recommend/implement corrective actions.
• Communicate with maintenance personnel on other shifts, as necessary, to ensure coordination of maintenance efforts on assigned equipment.
• Work cross functionally as a member of the operations team.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Team Leader.
