Star Electric in Billings, MT, is hiring experienced electrical professionals including 2nd–4th year apprentices and journeymen for commercial and industrial projects across Montana. The role reports to the Site Foreman, emphasizes safety, ownership of work, and teamwork.

Target start is early August with occasional OT. Expect to install electrical systems, read blueprints, and maintain equipment, while traveling as needed.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in commercial/industrial electrical installations.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean MVR and reliable transportation.
• Willingness to travel throughout Montana for assigned jobs.
• Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds, work on ladders, and perform trade tasks.
• Strong commitment to safety, craftsmanship, and professional conduct.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical installations on commercial and industrial job sites under supervision.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications.
• Complete tasks with attention to detail, quality, and efficiency.
• Support apprentice development by answering questions and demonstrating proper techniques.
• Ensure all work meets safety and quality standards.
• Maintain and care for tools, materials, and job site cleanliness.
• Coordinate with fellow electricians and foremen for smooth workflow.
• Travel as needed for projects across Montana (overnight travel possible).
• Accurately report completed work and track time and materials used.

We’re looking for experienced, hard-working 2nd, 3rd, 4th Year Apprentice and Journeyman to join our growing team and work on a variety of commercial and industrial jobs in Billings and across Montana.

Target start date is early to mid August.

You’ll be a vital part of the field team, executing high-quality electrical installations and supporting the success of each project. You will report directly to the Site Foreman and are expected to take ownership of your work, maintain high safety standards, and contribute positively to the crew dynamic.
