Job summary

Amches, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Systems Engineer to collaborate across government and software teams in a fast-paced Agile environment.

You will help design, document, and integrate complex systems while ensuring alignment with customer and technical objectives. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, an active Secret clearance, and 8–10 years of relevant experience in Agile, DevSecOps, and system integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering or equivalent experience.
• Active Secret clearance is required.
• 8–10 years of experience in systems engineering or a related role.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe).
• Knowledge of DevSecOps practices.
• Hands-on experience with DevSecOps tools (JIRA, Confluence, Bamboo, Jenkins, …).
• Knowledge of scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, Bash, or similar).
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills; experience with Java, Spring MVC, jQuery, jQuery DataTables, ThymeLeaf, AJAX, Bootstrap and CSS experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and operation in an Agile environment.
• Maintain up-to-date system documentation in Confluence, including interface definitions and system diagrams.
• Work with government product managers and software developers to align designs with objectives.
• Develop and document system architecture, components, and interfaces to meet project requirements.
• Identify integration points and key interfaces across the system.
• Support integration of system services with external systems and testing activities.
• Identify opportunities for improving system efficiency and scalability.

Job description

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration and operation of complex systems in a fast-paced Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Agile Development: Participate in Agile ceremonies, such as iteration planning, iteration demos, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, to contribute to team goals and objectives.
• Documentation: Maintain up-to-date system documentation in confluence, including interface definitions, system diagrams, and mission use cases
• Collaboration: Work closely with the government product manager and software developers to ensure system designs align with customer and technical objectives.
• Other Responsibilities:
• System Design: Develop and document system architecture, components, and interfaces to meet project requirements.
• System Interfaces: Become an expert in the system’s interfaces and identify key integration points
• Integration & Testing: Support the integration system services with external systems
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving system efficiency and scalability through innovative approaches and tools.
