Ami Arroyo, Inc. is seeking a Senior Autonomous Vehicle Technician to join our client’s team in the Dallas area. This senior, hands-on role combines mechanical and electrical diagnostics with hardware integration, maintenance, and leadership of junior technicians.

You’ll work with engineering, operations, and quality teams, performing installations, troubleshooting, and field support to improve autonomous vehicle hardware and test processes.

  • Experience providing guidance and mentorship to technicians.

Responsabilités

About The Role

Ami Arroyo Recruiting is supporting our client in hiring a Senior Autonomous Vehicle (AV) Technician to help integrate, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve an autonomous electric vehicle fleet. This is a senior, hands‑on technical role combining advanced mechanical and electrical diagnostics with hardware integration, preventative maintenance, field support, and technician mentorship. You’ll work closely with engineering, operations, and quality teams in a fast‑paced vehicle environment where safety, precision, and reliability are essential. You’ll also serve as a technical resource for junior technicians, helping diagnose difficult problems and sharing field feedback with cross‑functional partners to improve hardware designs and testing processes.

Responsibilities
  • Lead installation and integration of complex vehicle hardware, including sensors, compute modules, wiring harnesses, and electronic components.
  • Diagnose and resolve advanced mechanical, electrical, and system‑integration issues across vehicle and robotic platforms.
  • Perform and oversee preventative maintenance, retrofits, and system upgrades that support vehicle reliability and uptime.
  • Provide onsite technical leadership during vehicle deployments and testing, including issue diagnosis and corrective action.
  • Partner with engineering, operations, and quality teams to communicate field findings and support improvements to hardware designs and test processes.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and related technical documentation.
  • Maintain and review technical documentation associated with vehicle work and troubleshooting.
  • Manage tools and inventory while maintaining organized and safe work areas.
  • Follow applicable safety and quality procedures.
  • Mentor, train, and support junior technicians by sharing technical knowledge and best practices.
  • Travel locally as needed to provide field support.
Minimum Requirements
  • Strong hands‑on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency using mechanical and electrical tools, multimeters, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team‑based, high‑throughput production or vehicle environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a structured problem‑solving mindset.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work on vehicles for extended periods.
  • Experience sufficient to provide technical guidance and mentorship to other technicians.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with electric vehicles, autonomous vehicle systems, robotics, or related advanced vehicle technology.
  • Experience installing or servicing sensors, compute hardware, wiring harnesses, or similar integrated vehicle systems.
  • Experience with soldering, crimping, or prototyping.
  • Familiarity with automotive test operations, data collection, or calibration workflows.
  • Previous experience mentoring or training technicians.
Working Environment
  • Location: Dallas‑area worksite in Irving, Texas.
  • Work environment: On‑site/in‑person.
  • Schedule: Full‑time, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM Central Time.
  • Local travel: As needed for field support
  • Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 lbs. and working on vehicles for extended periods.
