Location: Wakulla County School District, Crawfordville, Florida

Starting Date: Immediately

Job Description

Job Goal: To safely transport students to and from school.

Reports To: Transportation Director

Responsibilities

• Transport students to and from school following a pre-planned route and scheduled timetable.
• Regulate ventilation and heating to maintain a comfortable environment.
• Drive bus safely while complying with traffic regulations.
• Supervise loading and unloading of passengers.
• Instruct children in safety practices and precautions.
• Signal students when to cross streets or highways and ensure safe crossing.
• Conduct discipline management and report unruly behavior to the school principal.
• Inspect, sweep, and wash the bus daily as needed.
• Report delays, accidents, and operational records; submit required written reports.
• Participate in the district drug and alcohol screening program.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Transportation Coordinator, Principal, or School Board policy.

Qualifications

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License.
• Pass a drug and alcohol test and a physical examination.
• Minimum of five years driving experience.
• Evidence of 40 hours of initial inservice training.
• Submission of documentation for annual physical examination.
• Completion of eight hours of School Board approved driver in-service training annually.
