Job summary

Maury County Public Schools in Los Angeles is seeking an Assistant Head Coach to support the head coach and help maintain program standards.

The position focuses on athlete supervision, safety, rule adherence, and collaboration with staff to ensure a positive and safe sporting environment. Applicants will assist with enforcing policies, mentoring athletes, coordinating with parents, and performing duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Experience in supervising student athletes and enforcing athletic policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach in verifying adherence to rules and report violations.
• Ensure supervision of all student athletes at all times, with adults in locker rooms.
• Provide a safe environment and proper care for injuries.
• Perform duties deemed necessary by the head coach.
• Follow proper administrative chain of command for requests or grievances.
• Demonstrate respect and good sportsmanship before students and community.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.

Job Functions

• Assist the head coach in verifying that athletes adhere to the rules and regulations set by the TSSAA/TMSAA or other applicable athletic association, the Maury County School Board and all building-level policies and procedures and report any violations to the appropriate party.
• Ensure supervision of all student athletes at all times. An adult should be in the locker room when athletes are in the locker room and remain until all athletes have left the locker room.
• Provide the proper environment for the safety and health of the athletes, including the prevention of and proper care of injuries.
• Perform any duties deemed necessary by the head coach
• Understands the proper administrative chain of command and refers all student and parent requests or grievances through proper channels
• Conducts self before the students and the community to instill respect and good sportsmanship.
• Other duties as assigned.
