  • Create social media content about PTMSC programs and events.
  • Collaborate on planning outreach events.
  • Assist with animal collection, care and husbandry, and aquatic life support.
  • Provide field research support and lab assistance for ongoing projects.
  • Support volunteers and assist with volunteer training.

Overview

This is an AmeriCorps/Washington Service Corps national service position. The role is located at the Port Townsend Marine Science Center, situated in Fort Worden State Park and downtown Port Townsend. The center houses a vibrant aquarium, a museum with unique exhibits, and classroom space. The mission is to promote conservation, science, and education, helping visitors learn about the Salish Sea and steward its future. The position is funded and open until filled. Monthly stipend: $1,942.

Member Duties
  • Prepare and deliver science lessons to K‑12 students and youth in summer camps.
  • Serve as an interpreter for aquarium and museum exhibits.
  • Create social media content about PTMSC programs and events.
