All staff must be willing to commit to our mission: Inwood Academy for Leadership Charter School will empower students in Inwood and Washington Heights to become agents for change through community-focused leadership, character development and college preparedness. Teacher Apprentices will also offer teacher support with a variety of work inside and outside of the classroom, including teaching Enrichment classes, organizing student events, and developing mentoring relationships with students. By taking part in summer and school-year professional development, as well as regular meetings with an instructional coach, Teacher Apprentices will have many opportunities to gain experience and develop their teaching skills. This role is a one year role, with the option to renew for one additional year depending on performance. The goal for all Teacher Apprentices is to become a classroom teacher within 1 - 2 years after learning through hands-on experience what it means to be a teacher at Inwood Academy.
