Job summary

Blackstone Valley Prep Mayoral Academy is hiring dedicated educators to support diverse public charter schools in Rhode Island. The role emphasizes equity in classrooms, collaboration with families, and strong instructional planning for all scholars.

Responsibilities include co-teaching, case management, intervention techniques, and building Individualized Education Plans to meet each student’s needs. A Rhode Island teaching certificate is required by hire date.

Qualifications

• A minimum of two years teaching experience in a diverse public school setting preferred, but not required
• Bilingual candidates preferred, but not required
• Successful applicants must hold an appropriate Rhode Island teacher certification by date of hire
• Certification(s) in relevant field
• CPI certification

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to meet individual needs through co-teaching, group and project-based learning
• Develop and implement IEPs, plan with behavior intervention strategies and FBA/BIP where applicable
• Participate in departmental and family engagement activities and ongoing professional development

Special Educator Expectations

Possess skills and experience in co-teaching, case management, behavior management, and intervention techniques

Be skilled in the use of Functional Behavioral Assessment and Behavior Intervention Plans as well as writing Individualized Education Plans

Provide individual, group, and project-based learning instruction designed to meet individual needs and help scholars excel

Participate in departmental meetings, family engagement activities, and whole-school professional development opportunities
