Job summary

Catholic Charities USA’s Family Strengthening Program seeks a Data & Project Coordination Capacity Builder to strengthen internal systems for cross-departmental planning, data analysis, and project coordination.

The VISTA will improve data management, communication workflows, and project tracking to boost organizational efficiency and inform decisions across Missouri programs. This full-time position runs 11/16/2026–11/15/2027 and requires strong data-driven and nonprofit coordination skills.

Qualifications

• Some college education or equivalent experience.
• Strong communication, writing, and editing abilities.
• Experience in nonprofit program coordination and data tracking is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Strengthen internal systems to support cross-departmental planning and data analysis.
• Assist with collection, organization, and maintenance of program-level data across departments.
• Compile and analyze data to support internal reports and planning.
• Develop data summaries, tables, and analyses that can be sustained after the term.
• Track project timelines and deliverables across program areas.
• Maintain centralized project documentation to improve transparency and accountability.
• Help develop templates, guides, and SOPs.
• Document workflows related to data tracking, project coordination, and communication.
• Create and maintain program reports for data quality and outcomes.
• Oversee program data quality recorded in Apricot.
• Assist with optimization of data collection on forms.

This VISTA position is a part of Catholic Charities USA’s Family Strengthening Program, a national intermediary project. As a member, you will meet virtually with VISTA Leaders and other VISTAs serving throughout the country, all focused on alleviating poverty. The Data & Project Coordination Capacity Builder will strengthen the internal systems that support cross-departmental program planning, data analysis, and project coordination. By improving data management, communication workflows, and project tracking processes, the VISTA will enhance organizational efficiency, support informed decision-making, and increase the long-term sustainability of anti-poverty programs serving individuals and families across the region. Catholic Charities of Kansas City-St. Joseph operates multiple interconnected programs addressing food insecurity, housing instability, family stability, workforce development, and other root causes of poverty. As programs grow in scale and complexity, limited centralized capacity for data management, project coordination, and cross-departmental communication can slow implementation and reduce effectiveness. Strengthening internal systems for data collection, analysis, scheduling, and project coordination is essential to ensuring that programs remain responsive, accountable, and able to maximize their impact for individuals and families experiencing poverty. This program will strengthen the internal systems that support cross-departmental program planning, data analysis, and project coordination.
