Job Description

Purpose of the job: Provide instruction, leadership and supervision to middle school students participating in the sports program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with practices, emphasizing teamwork, skill development, learning rules and strategies, and student‑athlete improvement.
• Assist with academic monitoring with teachers, counselors, and other academic support staff.
• Supervise student‑athletes before, during, and after practices and contests, including in locker rooms, on buses, and at all other times.
• Ensure punctual attendance at all practices and games and remain until all student‑athletes have left.
• Assume responsibility for constant care of equipment and inventory.
• Complete required paperwork, including rosters, physicals, insurance forms, and parent consent forms.
• Provide information for transportation, facilities, officials, and game management.
• Conduct oneself and the team in an ethical manner during practices and contests, exemplifying the highest standards of sportsmanship.
• Assist in coordinating the program.
• Promote student‑athletes’ academic and athletic accomplishments.
• Continue professional growth through clinics and professional publications.
