Job Summary

The Brain Bowl Advisor supports and oversees the high school Brain Bowl.. The advisor works closely with students, school administration, and staff to ensure the club operates in alignment with ASD standards and school expectations.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Holds organized, supervised practice as the program requires.
  • Teaches the skills necessary to participate and to be competitive in Brain Bowl.
  • Teaches the strategies necessary to participate and to be competitive in Brain Bowl.
  • Develops seasonal goals and objectives and daily plans.
  • Develops lines of communication with students, staff, parents, officials, and booster clubs to promote Brain Bowl.
  • Maintains a record that includes information about equipment, supplies, student eligibility, and emergency medical information.
  • Ensures adult supervision of students before and after meetings, competitions, and on bus trips.
  • Provides for the safety and security of all students.
  • Follows all specified standards, policies, and procedures of the building and Ashland School District.
  • Actively encourages student participation.
  • Promotes the ethical value of students.
  • Maintains a positive working relationship with the administration and community that enhances Brain Bowl.
  • Provides proper care, maintenance, and security of facilities, equipment, and supplies from the first day of the season until the cycle of responsibility is completed.
  • Promotes concepts of sportsmanship.
  • Develops positive health and safety standards for all student in the program.
  • Attend work regularly and is punctual.
  • Annually pass the District's required online training by the District's assigned due-date.
  • While working collaboratively with others, implements decisions within ASD established policies and procedures.
  • Professionally represent the school and the District in interactions with parents, community, staff, and students and resolves conflict in a professional manner.
