Job summary

Navitas Business Consulting is seeking an AI Engineer 2 to lead enterprise AI/ML architecture, governance, and platform modernization for the DC Metro area. You will guide multi-agent orchestration, vector databases, and hybrid knowledge management initiatives to deliver scalable AI capabilities.

The role requires TS clearance with SCI eligibility, a CS/engineering/Data Science degree (Master preferred), and 7+ years in software or AI engineering.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field; Master preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in software engineering, AI/ML engineering, or solution architecture.
• Experience designing and deploying enterprise AI solutions.
• Experience with cloud-native AI services and MLOps platforms.
• Demonstrated experience with LLMs, agent frameworks, and vector databases.
• Must be DOW 8140 certified.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required Top Secret government security clearance.

What You’ll Do

The AI Engineer 2 serves as a senior technical contributor responsible for leading AI/ML architecture design, governance, and implementation efforts supporting enterprise-scale AI capabilities. This role provides advanced expertise in agentic systems, model governance, and AI platform modernization initiatives.

Set Yourself Apart With

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline.
• Experience supporting DoD or Intelligence Community agencies.
• Experience with knowledge graphs and advanced AI governance frameworks.
• Relevant cloud or AI certifications.

Salary Range: $120k - $135k

The pay range provided is a good-faith estimate and represents the range the company reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of posting. Individual compensation may vary based on skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and business needs.
