Job summary

Harvest Midstream Company in Bloomfield, CT seeks an experienced Instrumentation/Electrical Technician to support installation, calibration, and maintenance of facility instrumentation and electrical components, ensuring a safe, efficient operating environment.

The role involves supervising contractor work, troubleshooting DCS/PLC systems, calibrating transmitters, and coordinating with Operations and Maintenance to prioritize repairs.

Qualifications

  • Five (5) years minimum experience in plant electrical/instrumentation maintenance.
  • Ability to perform heavy manual tasks for extended periods.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors and other departments.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies current and future Instrumentation/Controls requirements with management, engineering and production personnel.
  • Directs and supervises contractors for multi-person tasks.
  • Assists in training employees on maintenance of instruments and electrical equipment.
  • Ensures equipment is operating properly by prioritizing repairs and scheduling maintenance.
  • Supports product development by reviewing new equipment plans and modifications in coordination with facility crafts.
  • Supports and maintains instrumentation from various manufacturers (electronic, mechanical, pneumatic).
  • Provides support to Operations and Maintenance departments as needed.

Job description

Job Objective:
Supports projects, installation, and maintenance of facility instrumentation and electrical components to ensure a safe, comfortable, operating environment.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
  • Identifies current and future Instrumentation/Controls requirements by establishing a rapport with management, engineering, production personnel, technicians, and other persons in a position to understand controls requirements.
  • Directs and supervises contractors as needed to complete assignments that are more than a one-man job.
  • Assists in the training of employees on how to perform the duties of maintenance, construction, and repair of instruments/analyzers and electrical equipment.
  • Ensures equipment is operating properly by determining work priorities and scheduling repair, maintenance, and installation of controls equipment.
  • Supports product development and improvement by reviewing new product plans, discussing equipment needs and modifications, coordinating activities with other facility crafts.
  • Supports and maintains Electronic, Mechanical, and Pneumatic instrumentation of various types and manufacturers.
  • Support Operations and Maintenance departments as needed.
  • Working knowledge of analyzers and ability to troubleshoot
  • Calibrations of pressure, level, flow, and temperature transmitters and switches.
  • DCS/PLC Maintenance and Troubleshooting.
  • Utilize trends to diagnose/troubleshoot operational issues.
  • Ability to respond to power outages.
  • Knowledge and ability to run conduit and tubing as needed.

  • Adheres to established work schedule, attendance standards and is punctual to work and meetings.
  • Maintain low and medium voltage equipment
Other Job Responsibilities:
  • Ability to be available 24 hours per day (on call for questions, emergencies, etc.).

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

  • Work requires an educational background normally acquired through a degree in Instrumentation, Process Control, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
