Mt. Olive Pickle Company Inc. in Mount Olive, NC is seeking an Outside Production Forklift Operator for the Day Shift to safely operate a forklift in the tank yard, unload and transport raw materials including cucumbers and brine stock.
As a certified forklift operator with a high school diploma, you will follow safety rules, assist with loading/unloading, and support graders, washers, hydrocooler and other equipment.

Safely operates forklift on tank yard to unload and transport raw materials.
Certified forklift operator. High school graduate with additional training preferred. Ability to read and write in English needed. Basic understanding of addition, subtraction, and the multiplication table required.

Forklift, Ramps, Washer, Length Grader, Bulk Unloader, Hand tools, Pumps, Broom, Shovel, Tractor, Bin, Scales, and other tools and equipment in the Outside Production Area.
Climbing: Ascending or descending ladders (5ft) , stairs, ramps, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.
Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerate degree and requires full use of the lower extremities and back muscles.
Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
Standing: Particularly for sustained periods of time.
Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
Pushing: Using upper extremities to press against something with steady forces in order to thrust forward, downward, or outward.
Pulling: Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul, or tug objects in a sustained motion.
Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a high position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.
Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.

Heavy Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and\or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
The worker is required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
Works outside, subject to wide seasonal temperature variations and intermittent wetness from rain or some job tasks. Fumes from diesel and propane forklifts, high brine, hot pepper, and stagnant water. Some contact with oil, grease, rust, brine and dust. Irritating machinery noise. Gloves, goggles, aprons, ear protection and steel inserts for shoes available as needed. May be required to handle alum, chlorine, anti-foam, vegi-kleen and gasoline required for forklifts.
