Job summary

St. Louis County is seeking Security Guard personnel to provide security for persons and property. Roles include patrolling on foot, inspecting facilities, and responding to emergencies, with detentions when necessary and cooperation with police authorities.

This unarmed position uses handcuffs, an ASP baton, pepper spray, and two-way radios. Regular and irregular shifts, including nights and weekends, are required with a 7% shift differential for midnight work.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Patrols assigned facility on foot to guard persons and property.
• Inspect buildings for doors, damage, safety hazards.

• Investigate suspected crimes on premises.
• Assist the public and employees by answering questions.
• Maintain shift log and report to supervisor.
• Detain individuals for arrest by authorities as needed.
• Operate two-way radios for routine activity and investigations.
• Perform related duties as required.
