In accordance with §18A-5-8 (2)(A) once the instructional term begins, those certified as ECCAT/ autism mentors and/or one-on-one aides are not permitted to transfer to another aide/autism mentor position until the next instructional term (year) begins. In addition, §18A-5-8 (f) indicates that an aide and any other service employee may transfer to another position of employment one time only during any one half of a school term semester unless approved by the superintendent (designee). During the first year of employment as an aide or any otherservice classification, a service employee may not transfer to another position of employment during the first one-half school term (semester) unless approved by the county superintendent. Aides not certified as autism mentors or one-on-one aides will be permitted to transfer only one time per semester.
